Professor Dr. Kamarul Imran Musa
Professor Dr. Kamarul Imran Musa is a Professor of Epidemiology and Biostatistics at Universiti Sains Malaysia with over 25 years of experience in academic medicine, public health, and clinical epidemiology. He specializes in epidemiological and statistical modelling, cardiovascular disease, stroke outcomes, infectious disease epidemiology, and machine learning applications in healthcare.
He has published more than 190 peer-reviewed articles in leading international journals, including The Lancet, Nature, BMJ Open, BMC Public Health, and Scientific Reports. His research has significantly advanced the understanding of cardiovascular disease, stroke epidemiology, infectious disease dynamics, and the application of artificial intelligence and machine learning in public health.
He has successfully secured and led numerous national and international research grants, including the Newton–Ungku Omar Fund, FRGS, ASEAN Research Collaborative Fund, and USM research grants. Recognized among the Top 2% Scientists Worldwide by Stanford University from 2020 to 2024, he continues to contribute to impactful research, policy development, and capacity building in public health and epidemiology.
