Associate Professor Ts. Dr. R Kanesaraj Ramasamy
Associate Professor Ts. Dr. R Kanesaraj Ramasamy is an Associate Professor and technology leader with over 15 years of experience in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Internet of Things (IoT), machine learning, predictive analytics, and software engineering. He currently serves as Deputy Director of the Touchpoint Management Office at Multimedia University (MMU), where he leads the development and management of the university-wide tNPS performance and feedback system across 38 departments.
He holds a PhD in Information Technology, a Master’s degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering & Software Architecture), and a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science (Software Engineering). Throughout his career, he has combined academic excellence with industry collaboration, contributing to national initiatives such as Malaysia’s National IoT Implementation Policy through his attachment with the National Cyber Security Agency (NACSA).
He has successfully secured more than RM1 million in research grants as Project Leader across nine projects and over RM137,000 in CSR funding for sustainability and community initiatives, including Wake Up Tioman and iCoral: Reef Rescue. His research focuses on AI, IoT, healthcare technology, predictive analytics, service-oriented computing, and smart systems.
He has published 20 SCOPUS-indexed papers, including publications in Q1 and Q2 journals such as IEEE Access, Sustainability, Future Internet, and Healthcare. His research contributions have earned multiple international recognitions, including Gold Awards and special awards in innovation competitions.
He is also an active trainer, mentor, reviewer, and advisor, serving on national and international committees. He has supervised postgraduate students, delivered professional training programs for government agencies and industry partners, and contributed to accreditation, policy development, and academic quality assurance initiatives.
In addition, he holds one patent and several copyrights, is a Professional Technologist registered with MBOT, and is a Senior Member of IEEE. His work demonstrates a strong commitment to integrating technology, sustainability, and societal impact through innovation, research, and strategic partnerships.
