Dr. Wan Nor Arifin Wan Mansor
Dr. Wan Nor Arifin is a Senior Lecturer and Coordinator of the Biostatistics and Research Methodology Unit at the School of Medical Sciences, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM). His expertise lies in medical statistics, psychometrics, the development and validation of measurement and diagnostic tools, as well as machine learning and large language model applications in healthcare and public health. He is also an active advocate of the R programming language for statistical analysis and research. His academic qualifications include an MBBS degree, a Master of Science in Medical Statistics, and a PhD in Intelligent System Techniques from USM.
Throughout his academic career, Dr. Wan Nor Arifin has made significant contributions to research and scholarly publishing. In 2025, he was recognized among the Top 2% Scientists by Elsevier and Stanford University. He has achieved an H-index of 19, published 84 scientific papers, and accumulated more than 1,700 citations in Scopus. Beyond his research activities, he serves as Associate Editor of the Education in Medicine Journal and Statistical Editor of the Malaysian Journal of Medical Sciences. His technical competencies include R, Python, statistical computing, R package development, and advanced analytical methods for clinical and public health research.
