Dr. Erwan Ershad Ahmad Khan
Dr. Erwan Ershad Ahmad Khan is a Public Health Medicine Specialist and currently serves as the Senior Principal Assistant Director and Head of the Mental Health Unit (KCEMH) at the Kelantan State Health Department. He focuses on public mental health, suicide prevention, mental health promotion, and health system strengthening through a Whole-of-Government (WoG) approach. He has extensive experience in strategic planning, large-scale programme implementation, crisis response, and digital health innovation, particularly in enhancing mental health services and improving access to care at both community and state levels.
He has led several key initiatives, including the statewide implementation of the “Stop the Stigma: Mental Health for All” campaign, the development of the Saringan Minda Sihat mobile application for early detection of depression and anxiety, and the creation of the Kelantan Mental Health Reporting Platform. He has also played a significant role in strengthening Mental Health and Psychosocial Support (MHPSS) services and contributing to state-level mental health strategies and action plans. He holds a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in Epidemiology and a Master of Public Health (MPH) from Universiti Sains Malaysia. His expertise includes public mental health, programme management, digital health innovation, AI-supported public health solutions, data analytics, and stakeholder engagement.
