Dr Mohamad Hazwan Mohd Daut

Dr. Mohamad Hazwan Mohd Daut, Ph.D. is a technology and innovation leader with a Ph.D. in Engineering from the University of Cambridge. He has extensive experience bridging engineering, healthcare, biotechnology, and innovation ecosystems, with a strong track record in commercialisation, strategic partnerships, and national technology development.

Currently serving as Deputy Director, Touchpoint Management Office, he previously led Life Sciences and HealthTech initiatives at MRANTI, where he established the National HealthTech Hub and supported more than 150 startups and innovations. He also spearheaded the International Affordable Diagnostics & Therapeutics Alliance (IA-DATA), securing RM25 million in government funding and fostering collaborations with leading local and international organisations.

Throughout his career, he has held leadership positions at CREST and Citibank Malaysia Berhad, driving innovation programmes, healthcare technology initiatives, grant schemes, and strategic transformation projects. His achievements include facilitating technology commercialisation, developing national innovation frameworks, and securing significant funding for research and development initiatives.

He also serves on several national advisory and steering committees, contributing to Malaysia’s biotechnology, healthcare technology, and innovation policies. His expertise spans HealthTech, biotechnology, medical devices, digital health, technology commercialisation, innovation management, regulatory strategy, and stakeholder engagement.

With a unique combination of technical expertise, strategic leadership, and industry experience, he continues to drive high-impact initiatives that accelerate innovation and strengthen technology ecosystems in Malaysia and beyond.
